You may have noticed the proliferation of spiffy bespoke cocktail bars across Singapore in recent times, but you know the cocktail bar scene in Singapore has truly begun to mature when it all but gets an event of its own. And not just any event – in March this year we’ll have the Singapore Cocktail Week 2015, an eight-day festival showcase of all things cocktail that will celebrate the country’s exciting cocktail scene and highlight the city’s growing pool of bartending talents.

The Singapore Bar Awards (SGBA), established in 2014 by industry veteran Tron Young, returns for the second year as an affiliated event of Singapore Cocktail Week. The winners will be selected through a tally of votes from 100 Singapore-based bartenders, spirits importers, journalists and influencers, with the results to be announced on 8 March 2015. Categories include Best Male Bartender, Best Female Bartender, Best Bar, and the new categories of Best Bar Food and Best Service Crew, amongst others.

Organized by events company Curated Events and sponsored by William Grant & Sons, the inaugural Singapore Cocktail Week this year will take place from 7 to 14 March, with festival goers slated to participate in a series of events from the Singapore Bar Awards (SGBA), cocktail workshops, cocktail tours, as well as various pop-up bars appearing around the island. 10 of the world’s best bartenders will also be in Singapore to guest bartend in various bars here.

Some 30 top cocktail bars in Singapore have been selected to participate in Singapore Cocktail Week, and each participating bar will be showcasing a selection of signature cocktailsat the special price of S$14++ (pictured above is ‘Sheik On The Level’ by Hilda Ura of The Spiffy Dapper) for the period of the event.
