Looking for more whisky pairing experiences? Auchentoshan is taking over the newly-opened Monti from 21-24 December to present whisky lovers with what they call a New Malt Order, promising a ‘dramatically different encounter’ with whisky.

A pop-up bar will be set up to help people explore Auchentoshan’s smooth, triple-distilled single malt, which will be complemented by mouthwatering canapes curated by Monti’s Chef Luigi Calcagno. Oh, the panoramic view of Marina Bay helps lots, too.

Auchentoshan made its name as a delicate single malt that isn’t challenging for new whisky drinkers, and has the capacity to be interesting for experienced whisky fans. What the New Malt Order aims to do is to play up the key flavours of Auchentoshan – the signature hints of citrus, nuttiness, sweetness and spiciness from the whisky’s maturation in Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximenez casks – by letting you customize the way you experience Auchentoshan, with the addition of various condiments, ingredients and choices of garnishes.

Looks like we’ve come quite a ways from the stereotypical appreciation of whisky – neat, and with a dash of water. Sally Lim, Marketing Manager for Beam Suntory, Southeast Asia, adds that more than ever, consumers are looking for new ways to enjoy their tipple of choice. “The New Malt Order dares both the novice and the seasoned whisky drinker to be different, allowing them to create a bespoke drink that they like which still amplifies the key flavours of Auchentoshan and delivers the essence of our whisky to the drinker,” she said.
