Scottish lowland whisky brand Auchentoshan unveils the second instalment of its The New Malt Order whisky experience at Alley Bar on Orchard Road.

First unveiled in December last year, Auchentoshan’s The New Malt Order promised whisky drinkers a different experience when it came to whisky and food pairings. That pop-up bar experience will continue as Auchentoshan takes over the newly renovated Alley Bar on Orchard Road from 5-15 July to promote its range of single malt whiskies.

As was with the previous takeover at waterfront bar restaurant Monti, The New Malt Order will take patrons of Alley Bar through an experience that plays up on the triple-distilled single malt whisky brand’s key flavours – signature hints of citrus, nuttiness, sweetness and spiciness garnered from the whisky’s maturation in bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximenez casks – while allowing them to have some fun by customising their own cocktails using various condiments, ingredients and choices of garnish.

Materials will be on hand to help guide them in putting three different cocktails together.

What the Kueh?! puts together coconut water, pandan reduction, gula jawa, a dash of bitters and the Auchentoshan Three Wood for a familiar local flavour; the Ye Old Soda Sour crosses an old-school soda fountain ice cream float with a whisky cocktail mixing three different citrus and a dash of sugar with the Auchentoshan 12YO, and is then topped with vanilla ice cream. Then there’s the Jammin’ with the Marmy, a concoction of ginger and cinnamon mingle with the Auchentoshan 12YO, along with orange marmalade, fresh lemon juice and bitters over crushed ice. Guests can enjoy one-for-one Auchentoshan DIY cocktails at S$20++ during the pop-up bar period.

For those who prefer their whisky neat though, Alley Bar will run exclusive Auchentoshan promotions in conjunction with The New Malt Order with a two-month long bottle offer running from July to August, with a bottle of Auchentoshan 12YO retailing at S$188++ and the Auchentoshan Three Wood retailing for S$238++. Auchentoshan whisky flights will be available at S$30++ for guests who want to explore our Auchentoshan American Oak, 12 Year Old and Three Wood neat.

The New Malt Order will take place from 5-15 July at Alley Bar on Emerald Hill.
