As part of Tippling Club’s of “Once Upon A Time In…” themed parties, the award-winning bar restaurant will be hosting “Once Upon A Time in Japan” on Thursday 6 July 2017 at 7pm featuring Shingo Gokan, founder of Speak Low in Shanghai.
Well-travelled Tokyo-born bartender Shingo Gokan, of Angel’s Share and Speak Low fame, was the winner of the second edition of the Bacardi Global Legacy Cocktail Competition in 2012 – you can find our interview with Shingo here – and also shares a coveted top 10 spot for International Bartender of the Year in the 2017 Spirited Awards. Shingo joins Tippling Club’s head bartender and fellow nominee, Joe Schofield, in an evening of Japanese-flavoured nuances and hospitality.
Having developed immersive cocktail and food pairing programmes with celebrity chefs such as Masaharu Morimoto of Iron Chef, Shingo will work with Tippling Club’s chef Ayo Adeyemi to present a series of cocktails and small plates inspired by the Land of the Rising Sun.
