Carlberg first introduced its Somersby Cider brand to Singapore late 2012 with Somersby Apple Cider (it was first launched in Denmark and Norway back in 2008), and one of the first in that category to really penetrate the local market in a big way. Since then the cider market in Singapore has exploded, and the likes of Sweden’s Rekorderlig and New Zealand’s Monteith’s have already started to capitalize on that growth, introducing a wide variety of flavours catered to the Asian palate clamouring for its refreshingly fruity – and in many cases, sweet – character.

With that increased competition, Somersby has introduced Somersby Pear, a light thirst quencher made with 22.5% real pear juice, with no artificial sweeteners, flavours or colourings. Somersby Pear originates from a Danish recipe, and is slightly sweeter than traditional dry English ciders without the sometimes overly saccharine sweetness of its Nordic counterparts.

Somersby is currently the market leader for cider in Denmark, and the second most popular cider on the market in Norway (after Grevens). Somersby is sold in more than 22 countries.
