We don’t quite get many beers from southern United States – in fact, we gotten none at all so far – so it was a surprise to us to hear that Beer Importers & Distributors (better known in the industry as BID) recently brought in beers from Abita Springs, Louisiana-based Abita Brewing Company into Singapore.
Abita beers complements BID’s fellow American beer marque Samuel Adams of Boston Beer Company – they carry just two of Samuel Adams vast range, the core Boston Lager as well as the seasonal “Brewmasters Collection” Noble Pils – in addition to the importer’s usual Belgian beer range such as Chimay, Duvel and Silly. First founded in 1986, privately-owned Abita – located just 30 miles north of New Orleans – by virtue of its location uses pure artesian spring water without any alteration to make its beers.
BID currently brings in four of seven Abita’s flagship brews.
