Unbeknownst to most, 23 October is considered International Snow Leopard Day, dedicated to raising awareness to help keep that critically endangered species alive. First launched in 2014 to mark the adoption of the landmark Bishkek Declaration on the conservation of this endangered big cat, you can quite imagine it’s a cause extremely close to the heart and mission of Snow Leopard Vodka.

And to mark the International Snow Leopard Day this year, Edrington Group – brand owners of the Snow Leopard Vodka, which was first launched in Singapore in August of last year – will in Singapore partner with 17 outlets islandwide to raise awareness and funds to help save these big cats, of which only 3,500 to 7,000 still remain in the wild. On October 2015, these participating outlets will offer snow leopard plush toys for customers who order Snow Leopard vodka with a recommended donation that starts from S$10. Proceeds from this donation drive will go towards The Snow Leopard Trust – created by the founder of Snow Leopard Vodka Stephen Sparrow – that engages in conservation to ensure survival of the species while at the same time, improving the livelihoods of the herder families who live in the high mountain rangers of Central Asia working not only to protect the animals but also the ecosystem on which they depend.

“Snow Leopard Vodka’s long term goal of helping us double the money we can spend on conservation out in the field has the potential of getting the snow leopard off the endangered list within a generation, which would be incredible,” saysBrad Rutherford, Executive Director of The Snow Leopard Trust.

With 15% of all profits from sales donated to the Snow Leopard conservation and with over US$100,000 raised to date, Snow Leopard Vodka is described as the world’s first ethical vodka with conservation at its heart.
