This year’s Bacardi Legacy cocktail competition has picked out its six finalists who will go into the National Finals that will take place in March.
Last year’s edition of Bacardi Legacy was a blast – the 2016 version saw five finalists from Singapore vie for the top spot to represent Singapore in San Francisco, with Anti:dote’s Bannie Kang finally emerging victorious with her Hwachae created to rival timeless rum-based classics such as the daiquiri or mojito.
This year Kang returns to Bacardi Legacy, not as a competitor but as one of the judges – she joined Bacardi brand ambassador Richard Irwin, Operation Dagger owner Luke Whearty, and Bacardi Legacy 2015 finalist and Crackerjack bartender Peter Chua to whittle down a field of 50 aspiring competitors in the recent competition round to just 15 contenders, before finally settling on six finalists.
The finalists are (names of their drink in parentheses):

- Davide Boncimino, The Other Room, [Marshall]
- Brandon Khoo, Crackerjack, [Rising Wind]

- Cedric Allen Mendoza, Manhattan Bar, [Regalo]
The finalists are given a three-month period to promote their drinks on-premise and on social media ahead of the National Finals this March at Clarke Quay, and the ultimate winner will represent Singapore in Berlin in May later this year.
