Mikkeller Bar Singapore, the local craft beer outpost of the renown Copenhagen, Denmark-based cult gypsy brewer, adds a bottle selection to its 20 rotating beer taps.
Since its opening in April last year, Mikkeller Bar Singapore has been regaling craft beer fanatics in Singapore with a range of cutting-edge craft brews from Danish gypsy brewer Mikkeller – headed by owner and brewer Mikkel Bjergsø –and its collaborative brewing partners on its beer taps. On any day you’ll see the core Bugis Brown, Prinsep Pilsner and Waterloo Wit beers made specifically for Singapore, but also a rotating beer offering with rare seasonal beers from such as fellow Danish gypsy brewery To Øl, Indiana’s 3 Floyds Brewing and more.
Operated by its local distributor The Drinking Partners – who also owns craft beer bar Druggists – Mikkeller Bar Singapore has now added a bottle selection of over 30 different beers, wines and spirits from Mikkeller as well. If you’re wondering what’s the big deal, some of the bottled and canned beers in this selection are not available on draft here in Singapore, many of them collaborations with award-winning restaurants around the world.
There’s the canned Ramen To Biiru, for example, a Ramen To Bíiru named for the specialty Japanese ramen joint in Copenhagen – created and owned by Bento Copenhagen and Mikkeller – that blends yuzu juice into a Belgian ale with some Brettanomyces.
You may also spot the Vibskov Den Plettede Gris, which Mikkel worked with fashion designer Henrik Vibskovs for the latter’s café on Papirøen in Copenhagen. Otherwise you may find the Kiin Kiin, which Mikkeller made with and for Copenhagen’s highly lauded Thai restaurant of the same name; there’s lemon and lime infused into the beer made specially to pair with spicy Thai food. If you’re very very lucky, you may even get your hands on some prized cans made specially for Copenhagen Beer Celebration – but don’t count on it.
There’s wines and spirits too, some of which Mikkel has been working on over the years in various projects. If you’re dropping by for a few beers, don’t forget to take some home as well.
