Melbourne, Australia-based bespoke champagne club Emperor Champagne plants its flag in Singapore, offering access to rare cuvées and curated champagne experiences to members here.

If you have a love affair with champagne, you might like to know that Australia’s champagne membership club Emperor Champagne has now landed here in Singapore. Emperor Champagne is an online champagne subscription service offers members access to the fascinating world of champagne. First founded in 2017 by Australia’s leading champagne expert Kyla Kirkpatrick – affectionately known as ‘The Champagne Dame’ – its key offering is the delivery of a monthly mystery box of champagne to your door, complete with tasting notes and curated champagne tutorials to help you bring out the best experience from the bubbly. But it also offers members exclusive invitations to events with direct access to winemakers, as well as luxury experiences such as priority access to winery and vineyard tours in France

Its new Singapore offshoot will offer similar services to members here. Membership is split into three tiers – there’s the invite-only ‘Champagne Collector’ priced at S$888 that’s capped at just 12 members, offering three bottles including a rare prestige cuvée each month.

There’s also ‘Champagne Connoisseur’ that costs S$238, and finally where members can look forward to two bottles of champagne each month, and finally the $128 ‘Champagne Lover’, which offers members one bottle of champagne each month. All members receive hand crafted crystal tulip glasses upon signing up; six for ‘Champagne Collector’, four for ‘Champagne Connoisseur’ and two for ‘Champagne Lover’.

Emperor Champagne’s mystery boxes – like many of such subscription services you won’t know what you’re getting until you open the package –  promises to curate bubbly from independent small growers and medium-sized champagne houses such as Jacquesson and Bérêche et Fils all the way to your iconic grand marques such as Taittinger from the Champagne region. It’ll be sourcing champagne from local distributors, but will also obtain exclusive and rare bottles from the cellars of French maisons direct.

Another core offering from Emperor Champagne is the privileged access to exclusive VIP luxury events that it’s planning in Singapore throughout the year. Through these events – wine dinners, champagne masterclasses and the like – members can get access to some of the most famous winemakers and ambassadors of champagne. Some five events have already been planned for Singapore from launch till Christmas this year.

Earlier this year Emperor Champagne successfully ran a fundraising round on crowdfunding site Equitise, raising over AUD$500,000 to help spearhead overseas expansion. Singapore is Emperor Champagne’s first international foray; it intends to expand to Hong Kong in early 2020, followed by Japan and China.

“Emperor Champagne’s expansion into Singapore comes as no surprise to us as the nation has been on the lips of every champagne industry professional,” said Emperor Champagne CEO and founder, Kyla Kirkpatrick (pictured above).

“With its rapidly-growing economy and increasingly refined tastes of its high-income individuals, it has gained momentum as wine hub and gateway of Southeast Asia. It is currently the 20th market for champagne in terms of volume and one of the biggest growth markets in the world,” Kirkpatrick added.

Emperor Champagne officially launches in Singapore on 15 August 2019.
