Award-winning Chilean wine brand Marques de Casa Concha collaborates with twelve Singapore dining venues for Marques Perfect Match, a food and wine pairing promotion that takes place over the next few months.

Wine is great, but there’s nothing quite like having a glass of vino perfectly paired with food that’s been carefully curated to bring out the best in that wine. It’s why wine brand Marques de Casa Concha launched its wine and food pairing Marques Perfect Match last year; and what started last year with just eight venues has grown to twelve for its second season.

The latest vintages from Marques de Casa Concha will be on show here, with the portfolio of wines including its Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Etiqueta Negra, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, vinified from grapes sourced from the length and breadth of the South American country.

What’s particularly interesting about the latest edition is the breadth and depth of the kind of pairings a wine-loving consumer can expect. Sure you can have a more fine-dining experience at the likes of Whitegrass or Chef’s Table by Chef Stephan; French-Japanese restaurant Whitegrass is offering a five-course dinner menu with wine pairing at S$246++ per person, while the more modern European Chef’s Table is featuring various omakase menus ranging from $98++ per person for a four-course omakase menu to $150++ for an eight-course one, with a pairing of four glasses of wine at S$78++ per person, or $118++ per person for six glasses.

For something less formal there’s always wine-focused Praelum, whose sommeliers are always happy to geek out with you over wine even as you partake in their Caldillo de Mariscos ($30++), a broth of roasted cod, scallops, prawns, squid and spiced shellfish that’s paired with the Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay. There’s also the Cerdo Picante a la Parilla, Ensalada Chilena ($16++)– what is grilled pulled pork, chilli marmalade, tomato and onions on toast – partnered with the Carmenere. Wine pours here are $5++ for 30ml to $21++ for $150ml.

Or how about pairing Chilean wine with Chinese food? At modern Chinese restaurant Mitzo Restaurant & Bar in Grand Park Orchard guests can opt for either its Braised Vermicelli with Seafood ($95++ with wine pairing) paired with Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay, or the XO Fried Rice with Lobster Meat, Vegetables and Mushroom ($95++) that comes with the Carmenere 2016.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more casual setting, you can’t go wrong with the very English pub restaurant Rabbit Carrot Gun, with its Beef Wellington ($48++ with wine pairing) to be paired with the Cabernet Sauvignon, or city cafe News & Gossip, with the rather unusual pairing of Portobello Caprese ($28.50++ with wine pairing) with Marques de Casa Concha’ Pinot Noir.

Other participating restaurants include Dusk Restaurant and Bar, Salt Grill & Sky Bar, The Botanic, Ristorante Luka, Smoke & Mirrors, and Wine Universe.

Note that the duration of the Marques Perfect Match food and wine promotions vary from restaurant to restaurant, and can be available till end October or end December 2019. Check with each restaurant for details.
