Copper Dog Whisky collaborates with Singapore’s premier sneaker and streetwear festival Street Superior Festival for an exclusive Copper Dog x Street Superior limited edition whisky with street-themed artwork.

Copper Dog Whisky, in collaboration with Street Superior, has unveiled a limited-edition collectible bottle that will be launched at the premier sneaker and streetwear festival. The Scotch whisky brand has tapped Singapore-based illustrator Russell Ong – the founding member of design collective Tell Your Children – to create a special label for the whisky, of which 100 individually-numbered bottles will be made available exclusively at the festival.

If you’re not familiar with Copper Dog, the no-age statement blended malt whisky was first created by Speyside-based The Craigellachie Hotel back in 2016 using eight Speyside malts supplied by Diageo (which has a minority shareholding in the brand). Named after the piece of kit used by distillery workers once upon a time to sneakily pilfer and smuggle whisky away, Copper Dog is a well-balanced whisky that can be both enjoyed neat or mixed into cocktails.

 Copper Dog x Street Superior

This collaboration bottle is the first of Copper Dog’s Limited-Edition Series. Both the limited-edition Copper Dog bottle and its packaging are emblazoned with bold urban-style art inspired by graffiti culture, and reflects the brand’s more youthful approach. As an added bonus, Street Superior has worked with blockchain technology provider VeChain to digitise the bottles with a unique ID on the VeChainThor blockchain to ensure proof of authenticity. Owners can scan the tamper-proof and NFC-enabled VeChain chip to access and unlock special content unveiling the story behind the bottle and artwork.

In keeping with Street Superior 2019’s theme of customisation, each Copper Dog x Street Superior bottle comes with its own Copper Dipper, which can be personalised with a customised engraving on-site. As an added surprise, one bottle out of the 100 in the series will reveal a unique image of a Street Superior engraved Copper Dipper embedded in their VeChain chip when scanned. The owner of that bottle gets to win a prize – a custom pair of sneakers by Chase Shiel worth USD$1250.

“The collaboration between us and Street Superior is a natural partnership that celebrates our desire to honour the people and craftsmen fostering Street Culture. Russell’s commitment to pushing borders inherently connects with Copper Dog’s playful, cheeky brand identity,” said Stuart La Brooy, Senior Marketing Director at Diageo.

“It was important for Street Superior to take the Limited-Edition Series further, not only through facilitating an artist collaboration. In addition to ensuring the bottles’ proof of authenticity, conveying the brand story of the artwork and its craftsmanship was imperative,” shared Jonathan Fong, co-founder of Street Superior Festival.

The Copper Dog x Street Superior Limited-Edition Copper Dog Series bottles retail at S$128 and are available only at Street Superior Festival held this year at *SCAPE on 2-3 November 2019.
