Heart of Darkness’ Sunday Beer Brunch is what craft beer lovers are waiting for

Heart of Darkness Brewery Singapore’s new Sunday beer brunch combines free-flow craft beer and familiar pub grub favourites for a perfect weekend brunch spot.

Tras Street craft beer pub Heart of Darkness Brewery Singapore – the Singapore outpost of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s award-winning Heart of Darkness Brewery – last month unveiled a special Sunday beer brunch that puts craft beer up and centre. Unlike most other weekend brunch options around town that provides alcoholic options at an additional charge, Heart of Darkness does it the other way round. Here you pay a price for unlimited pours (across three hours) of its beers at a price of $88 nett, and then order food from its brunch menu ala carte.

For craft beer fans this is, of course, craft beer heaven. You’re looking at some 30 different beers available on tap here. Not only can you avail yourself to its usual core range – such as their ever-popular Kurtz’s Insane IPA, Loose River New England IPA and Director’s Cacao Nib Porter – you can also access all their limited edition and seasonal beers as well. And if your companion isn’t into beers as much as you, there’s free-flow still and sparkling wines for their enjoyment.

Options for food at this Sunday beer brunch are your typical brunch options you’d find at cafes. They’re very well-executed – surprisingly so for a beer-centric bar – and even better, they’re very well-priced. Their Mac and Cheese ($10++, add $2++ for bacon) is scrumptiously decadent and totally worth it at that price. Also highly recommended is the HOD Big Breakfast ($18++), an amped-up version of an English breakfast, and the Roasted Meatballs ($16++) are among some of the best we’ve had in town.

Most non-beer drinkers are unlikely to drink enough beer to make the $88 nett worth it. But if you’re a craft beer lover like we know some of you are, this Sunday beer brunch is one of the best ways to try all of Heart of Darkness’ beers in one single sitting.
