Wildfire Burgers introduces its latest seasonal burger, the Wildfire Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger, available from now till end April 2021.

One silver lining in the dark cloud that was Singapore’s circuit breaker last year was Wildfire Burgers. The casual burger bar had opened during the pandemic, offering some of the best value-for-money burgers we’ve tasted for a while. During that lockdown we ordered in and became fans of their Classic 001 Cheeseburger – with its juicy beef patty and sweet brioche-style buns – as well as their Shabu Burger, featuring fall-apart sliced boneless short rib smothered in a yakiniku sauce.

But what’s particularly exciting about Wildfire Burgers is that every season they would introduce an experimental, enveloping-pushing meat sandwich. Previously we’ve seen the likes of the Garum Cheeseburger, a creation made in collaboration with Head Chef Remy Lefebvere of Butcher’s Block in Raffles Hotel Singapore that included the use of garum. Or the Ottoman Lamb Burger, made with quality Mottainai lamb from Western Australia.

This season, Wildfire Burger has launched its Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger. This is a wildly decadent version of, say, Burger King’s popular Mushroom Swiss. Instead of regular mushrooms here you have a burger blooming with juicy forest mushrooms such as morel, porcini, cremini, chanterelle, king oyster, and Champignon de Paris. And they don’t just use your typical Swiss cheese, but Tête de Moine, an AOC cheese from the Swiss Alps, which adds a lovely savoury nuttiness to the burger. The burger is available for takeaway, but if you dine in the cheese is shaved – and even torched – in front of you.

2018 Monkey Jacket Red Blend by Cruse Wine Co
The 2018 Monkey Jacket Red Blend by Cruse Wine Co is a North Coast, California blend of Valdiguié, Carignan, and Syrah.

And make sure you take special advantage of the wine promotion. Order the Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger and you can get a glass of the 2018 Monkey Jacket Red Blend by Cruse Wine Co at just $10 (usual price $15). This wine is vinified from Valdiguié, Carignan, and Syrah from vineyards located in California’s North Coast, and its fresh and zingy fruitiness pairs rather well with the seasonal burger. It’s also available by the bottle at $90. Otherwise there’s a range of craft beers to help wash your delicious mushroom burger down.
