Coca-Cola Singapore officially introduces its Topo Chico hard seltzer range featuring three different flavours into Singapore.

You know a category is in prominence when big brands start to muscle in on it. Hard seltzer, in particular, has been on the ascendency. The alcoholic sparkling water category in Singapore first saw a small number of players enter the market last year – Clean & Press by Scotland’s BrewDog and Fizzer by Australia’s MoonDog are notable examples – before beverage giant Heineken debuted its Somersby Hard Seltzer range towards the end of 2020. The market has now gotten even more competitive, with Coca-Cola Singapore officially launching its Topo Chico brand of hard seltzers in the Singapore market this month.

Topo Chico is one of the world’s largest sparkling flavoured mineral water brands. The 125-year old Monterrey, Mexico-based brand was acquired by The Coca Cola Company in 2017 and added to its emerging brands portfolio. Topo Chico first debuted its hard seltzer range in the United States in March this year, representing the soda giant’s first-ever foray into the alcoholic beverages market.

That range is now in Singapore. Available are three flavours – Pineapple Twist, Strawberry Guava, and Tangy Lemon Lime. Each of these hard seltzers contain around 102-103 calories and two grams of sugar per 355ml can, and comes in at 4.7 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Topo Chico hard seltzers are also free of preservatives, artificial flavours, and gluten. A flavour popular in the United States, Tropical Mango, is currently not available in Singapore.

Coca-Cola Singapore has tapped distribution giant Octopus Group as its authorised distributor in Singapore for Topo Chico.

Topo Chico hard seltzers are available at selected supermarkets, convenience stores, e-commerce platforms, as well as restaurants and bars in Singapore.
