Whisky Journey makes a return trip – second edition of the whisky festival to take place as a 10-day affair in December at over 20 participating bars and restaurants across Singapore.
The Whisky Store has announced that Whisky Journey, the whisky festival it debuted in 2020, will have its second edition later this year. Whisky Journey 2021 will take place from 10 to 19 December this year, and will see over 20 local establishments partnering whisky distilleries around the world to offer different exclusive whisky experiences during the festival.
Whisky Journey organiser The Whisky Store called its inaugural edition a success despite a challenging landscape last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Originally planned as a three day whisky exhibition, it had pivoted to a restaurant and bar whisky festival to accommodate social management measures.
Whisky Journey 2021 looks to be an even bigger festival this year. From 10 to 19 December, festival goers will have the opportunity to taste a wide selection of whiskies – ranging from family-owned boutique distilleries to renowned international brands – at over 20 restaurants and bars islandwide. Each participating venue will be matched with a specific whisky brand or distillery to offer a bespoke whisky experience – exclusive tasting or food pairing menus, promotional prices on special whiskies, and more.
Over 500 whiskies will be presented across some of Singapore’s best and newest whisky bars and restaurants at Whisky Journey 2021. More than 20 international whisky distilleries and brands will be participating, and include independent bottling pioneers Cadenhead, award-winning whisky icon Tomatin, and London-based Lakes Distillery. Brands new to the festival include Japanese distillery Mars and Sakurao, as well as Irish distilleries, Tipperary and Origin Spirits.

Participating establishments for Whisky Journey 2021 include familiar names such as Quaich Bar and Malts, but also an entire slew of new ones. These include beloved specialty whisky bars Single Cask and The Swan Song, as well as new drinking holes such as Snug Snug.
“The inaugural Whisky Journey held last year was very well received from consumers and trade partners who participated in the festival, inspite of the Covid-19 situation. This year we see more F&B establishments joining the festival, rallying together to ride through 2021; considered to be one of the most challenging period for the local F&B since the start of the pandemic,” shared Chua Khoon Hui, founder of The Whisky Store.
“Keeping to the same format as last year, we hope this second edition of Whisky Journey will garner more consumers seeking or are curious about new whiskies and whisky centric gastronomic experiences, and showing their support by visiting these establishments,” Chua added.
Standard tickets for Whisky Journey cost S$28 for early bird available till 7 November, S$38 per person from 8 November to 9 December, and $48 at the door. Pass holders will be entitled to a free Glencairn whisky glass, a Whisky Journey passport, and a free tasting 10ml sample dram at each participating establishment.
