Luke’s Lobster Singapore will be hosting Taiwan’s Ugly Half Beer for a craft beer pop-up from 14 March to 31 March 2022.
Lobster roll specialists Luke’s Lobster is showing a different side with its latest tie-up. Luke’s Lobster x Ugly Half is a seasonal pop-up with Taiwanese craft brewery Ugly Half Brewing, its first craft beer-related partnership since officially opening in Singapore in 2020. This comes after it commemorated its first anniversary celebrations last year, with a collaborative series that saw it partner with various signature restaurants such as Thevar and Birds of a Feather.
For the period of 14 March to 31 March 2022, fans of Luke’s Lobster will be able to pair their favourite lobster rolls with a range of six craft beers from the Wugu, Taiwan-based breweries. These include the Ugly Half’s Guava Gose – which comes highly recommended for pairing with Luke’s Lobster’s Signature Roll – as well as the Hazy IPA, the Big Three XPA, Jumbo Sour, Toastee Lager, and Oyster Stout.
The Big Three XPA and Hazy IPA, with their fresh hoppiness, ideally pairs very well with the Wasabi Mayo Lobster Roll, while the Jumbo Sour works with pretty much anything Luke’s Lobster has to offer. Likewise the TOASTea Lager and Oyster Stout – the lager helps to cleanse the palate between bites, while the stout provides a rich sweet roundness that complements briny seafood notes.
While you can order pretty much any permutation of rolls and craft beers during this Luke’s Lobster x Ugly Half promotional period, the best way to experience these pairings is with its Roll & Beer Buddy Set (S$110). This bundle includes a Signature Lobster Roll, a Luke’s Trio, and choice of any four Ugly Half beers. For craft beer enthusiasts, there’s the Ugly Half Beer Pack, which comes as a mix of all six different Ugly Half expressions (S$75 with any purchase of a lobster roll) either in-stores or through island-wide delivery.
