The Chandon Garden Spritz is a bottled wine spritzer that will make the perfect companion for your garden soiree or poolside party this summer.

One of the latest drops from leading sparkling winemaker Chandon is not really a wine at all. Sure, the Chandon Garden Spritz does contain sparkling wine, but it is technically wine spritzer.

Intrigued enough? This brand-new, handcrafted Chandon ready-to-drink cocktail takes a top-quality dry cuvée of the house’s sparkling wine – produced using Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Semillon grapes – and combines it with zesty and aromatic house-made orange bitters as well as handpicked Valencia oranges. The result is a refreshingly bubbly concoction that is a literal taste of summer. Or, at the very least, the perfect drink to wash off the summer heat.

Simply serve this over ice with a wedge of fresh orange and a rosemary sprig, and you’re set.

Chandon Garden Spritz perfect serve

Traditionalists may scorn – and to be fair, the Chandon Garden Spritz does sound like it targets young nubile females frolicking in bikinis or summer dresses by the beach or pool – but it’s actually a really well-conceived tipple. The quintessential notes of a good sparkling wine are all there, with its bright citrus and stone fruit freshness wrapped around a distinct mineral core. There’s a slight sweetness from the oranges too, balanced by a wood spice and herbal bite from the brandy-based bitters.

“We embrace a new world of possibilities with the Chandon Garden Spritz. This elegant, refined aperitif celebrates the coming together of craftsmanship, collaboration and innovation and is suitable for our consumers to enjoy at any time of the day. We look forward to seeing everyone get together over garden parties, picnics and more as the world starts to open up,” says Sibylle Scherer, Chandon President and CEO.

We won’t be too ashamed to bring this to our next summer party, really.

The Chandon Garden Spritz is available at a recommended retail price of S$41-49 at selected Cold Storage supermarket outlets. It is also sold on-trade at a recommended selling price of S$72-84 at all good restaurants and bars such as Ce La Vi, Offshore Grill & Bar, Potato Head Singapore, Super Loco, and New Harbour Cafe & Bar, among others.
