Regent Singapore will be hosting a week-long Festa Della Repubblica Italiana party celebrating Italy’s Republic Day across its restaurants and bars.
To celebrate Italy’s upcoming Republic Day, Regent Singapore has partnered with the Embassy of Italy to host Festa Della Repubblica Italiana, a week-long festival of art, music, wine and food across its various venues.
Italy’s National Day or Republic Day on 2 June is better known in Italy as La Festa Della Repubblica. The day marks Italy’s formation as a republic instead of a monarchy after its people voted in an 1946 institutional referendum. To commemorate the special day, Regent Singapore will be bringing together all things Italian under its roof for a week in the month of June.
While it can’t throw a military parade, Regent Singapore’s Festa Della Repubblica Italiana will highlight different aspects of Italian culture across its various venues Basilico, Manhattan, Dolcetto, and Tea Lounge.
Basilico
For the period of 30 May to 5 June 2022, Italian gastronomic bastion Basilico will be showcasing the diversity of Italian cuisine under the capable hands of its three culinary maestros Angelo Ciccone, Luca Beccalli, and Valerio Pierantonelli. Its popular Basilissimo Dinner, already bursting to its seams with Italian goodies, will feature dishes developed by each of these chefs, as well as one from guest chef Massimo Pasquarelli, the Executive Chef of Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore.
On 3 June 2022, Basilico will also host a special gala wine dinner, a 8-hands number featuring Ciccone, Beccalli, Pierantonelli, and Ritz-Carlton Millenia’s Pasquarelli that will also showcase Italian art and music.
Tea Lounge
From 30 May to 5 June 2022, Tea Lounge will be giving an Italian spin to its ultra-popular afternoon high tea. Expect creations such as scones come scented with Amalfi lemon zest, limoncello tartlets, tiramisu shooters, and blood orange panna cottas to satiate your sweet tooth. On weekends the spread gets more sumptuous – look forward to the likes of Amarone-braised Wagyu beef cheeks, Roman-style pork belly and Pinot Grigio-marinated chicken that you can wash down with Campari cocktails. And on 3 June 2022, you can enjoy your high tea with a side of Italian fashion as Olive Ankara, A Vintage Tale and Italian Hands show off their creations.
Dolcetto
While Regent Singapore’s gourmet pasticceria Dolcetto has been churning out Italian pastries for years, for this Festa Della Repubblica Italiana week it will be showcasing a spread of 10 cannolis, each bursting with different flavours. There’s also Millefoglie al Tiramisu and festive Zeppole di San Giuseppe to up that Italian pastry quotient. On June 1 June 2022 Dolcetto will also host Italian artist Laura Caretta for an art exhibition.
Manhattan
On 2 and 3 June 2022, award-winning hotel cocktail bar Manhattan will be hosting Matteo Zed – Bar Manager of Rome’s prestigious cocktail bar The Court located in luxury hotel Palazzo Manfredi – for a guest shift. A leading expert on amaro, Zed will be putting together five signature cocktails made with spirits from Campari and Remy Cointreau.
Other events as part of Festa Della Repubblica Italiana include a special aperitivo hour at Basilico’s poolside alfresco space on 30 May and a pizza making workshop for children on 4 June.
