Capella Singapore comes up as Singapore’s most popular hotel in the newly-released Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Hotels 2022.
Leading travel resource platform Tripadvisor has released its latest rankings of its highly-anticipated annual Travellers’ Choice Awards for Hotels. Now in its 20th year, the awards are a compilation of the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings, and recognises the hotels that its community loved the most.
The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Hotels 2022 include a total of 11 different subcategories of accommodations. There were three brand new subcategories this year: ‘Out of the Ordinary Hotels’, ‘Hotels on the Water’, and ‘Mountain Resorts & Lodges’.

From the results it’s rather evident that Tripadvisor travellers are most keen on luxury resorts. Tulemar Bungalows & Villas in Costa Rica – ranked this year as the world’s top accommodation by Tripadvisor reviewers – is a luxurious jungle resort perched on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, while Asia’s top hotel is Six Senses Laamu in Maldives, a similarly indulgent property on a private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Even Singapore’s No. 1 is Capella Singapore, an upscale property built around historic colonial-style buildings on Singapore’s island getaway of Sentosa. In fact, Capella Singapore leads a pack of three staycation-friendly, resort-like properties located on Sentosa, which also includes The Barracks Hotel Sentosa and Resorts World Sentosa – Crockfords Tower.
Villa Samadhi Singapore – another resort-style property – also made it into the top 20 best under the ‘Romance’ subcategory of the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Hotels 2022.

The 2022 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over the 12-month period from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
