Little Farms will be hosting Executive Chef Aaron Carr of Yarri Restaurant + Bar on 9 to 11 September 2022 for exclusive menus featuring produce and wine from Western Australia.

Hankering for a taste of Western Australia? If you can’t travel there any time soon, you may want to know that Little Farms will be hosting a guest chef from Western Australia this month of September. From 9 to 11 September 2022, Executive Chef Aaron Carr of Dunsborough, WA-based Yarri Restaurant + Bar will be swinging by the premium grocer and cafe chain for three days of good food and wine featuring produce from Western Australia.

If you’re not familiar with Chef Aaron Carr, he is one of the most celebrated chefs in Western Australia’s Margaret River region. Carr was head chef of the restaurant at iconic winery Vasse Felix for 21 years, before leaving in 2017 to fulfil a lifelong dream of owning his own restaurant. Yarri Restaurant + Bar was the result, a collaboration with progressive Margaret River winemakers Snake and Herring. The modern, casual Australian dining concept focuses on highlighting the best ingredients Western Australia has that are in season, and has since received numerous accolades such as ‘Two Hats’ at the Australian Good Food Guide Awards, and listed among the Top 50 Restaurants in Western Australia by the WA Good Food Guide.

Chef Carr will be carrying that philosophy with him for those three days at Little Farms. He will be working with Little Farms Head Chef Jason Green to create three different dining events that will shine a spotlight on the incredible canvas of produce from Western Australia found at Little Farms.

For the exclusive dinner menus served at Little Farms Bistro and Little Farms Table, Chef Carr will be presenting various prized WA ingredients.

“I will be showcasing meats like Kangaroo and turning it into pastrami. We also sourced some amazing scallops from the Abrohlas Islands, to be served with native limes. And I just got hold of the last of this season’s black truffles from Manjimup,” says Chef Aaron Carr. Every dish comes paired with wine from Snake and Herring that showcases Western Australia’s less conventional, often overlooked styles, vineyards and regions.

Over at Little Farms Cafe on Sunday 11 September, the ala carte ‘The BBQ Lunch’ menu will feature free-range Mt Baker Chicken and Roaring Forties Lamb, and a pop-up bar by Snake and Herring.

“I look forward to welcoming everyone on a uniquely Western Australian culinary adventure with Little Farms; 3 days of fuss-free yet delicious food, matched with remarkable wines from Snake and Herring,” Chef Carr added.
