Provence-based Château Minuty displays signature French Riviera flair with its sassy and elegant 2022 rosé wine range that’s newly released in Singapore.
Are rosé wines finally on the rise here in Singapore? Moët Hennessy certainly thinks so, at least when it comes to premium rosé. The luxury conglomerate officially brought in Sacha Lichine’s highly-acclaimed Château d’Esclans – including its cult favourite Whispering Angel – into the Lion City last year to tap on a category that frankly has been lagging here compared to the explosive interest seen in the rest of the world.
The latest from Moët Hennessy? Château Minuty, with four wines from the 2022 range of the iconic Côtes de Provence producer.
Château Minuty, owned by the Matton-Farnet family for more than 85 years over four generations and a Côtes de Provence Classified Growth since 1955, certainly sits on some prestigious terroir. Located on the Saint Tropez peninsula in the southeast of Provence, its vineyards enjoy a more moderate temperate maritime climate than other Provençal appellations located deeper inland. They are, as expected of the region, planted to red varieties of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, as well as Rolle, Clairette and Sémillon for whites. There’s also some Tibouren, which is typical for Provence.
The four wines – Minuty 281, Minuty Rose Et Or, Minuty Prestige, and Minuty M – are classic expressions of the maritime terroir. Wonderfully light, crisp, and fresh, each cuvée offers a different facet of the French Riviera with purity of fruit at their core.
Minuty’s 2022 harvest was affected by a chilly winter with some drought conditions, but a warm summer – along with the water shortage – helped concentrate the grapes for an excellent, if limited, harvest. The new vintage produced from those grapes, the Château claims, resembles its lauded 2003 release and offers remarkably pure yet expressive flavour profiles that has become the hallmark of Minuty.

The sole red wine in Château Minuty’s range, the Minuty Gabriel, is not released in Singapore.
Minuty Vintage 2022 – Official Tasting Notes
- Château Minuty 281 reveals a blush-pink robe and generous, refined aromas. The nose presents a delicate variation on citrus zest and tropical fruit mingled with floral notes and a touch of white currant. Secondary aromas develop a veritable bouquet of complex fragrances, from white stone fruits and vine peach to saline and spicy notes of white pepper. This rich aromatic palette coalesces in a mouthwatering, slightly bitter sensation. On balance, a full-bodied wine with a distinctive finish.
- Rose Et Or stands out for its elegance and delicacy, with sun-soaked, lively aromas of just-picked ripe and tropical fruit, displaying nuances that range from vine peach to pear and pink melon. On the palate, it expresses an ample roundness, a pure and crystalline quality that recalls fragrant spring water, with a saline note at the finish.
- Prestige Rosé bursts with flavour – floral and full-bodied with red-berry notes – as well as character and length. This vibrantly expressive cuvée displays a blush-pink robe with glints of pearl. On the nose, it stands out for its clear-cut fragrances, ranging from yellow grapefruit to white currant with hints of blood orange and fresh raspberry. The flavours are clean and direct, with pleasing saline and citrusy notes on the finish.
- Minuty M is pale pink and pearlescent, offering immediate pleasure with an intensely aromatic nose that evolves from tangy berry to tropical fruit notes. It is light, lively, and refreshing on the palate, with appealing zesty, herbaceous notes.
