QT Hotels & Resorts names award-winning New Zealand chef Sean Connolly as creative director of food and beverage for QT Singapore ahead of the hotel’s officially opening in September this year.
QT Hotels & Resorts has finally unveiled the signature dining experiences for QT Singapore when the hotel officially opens this September. Taking over Hotel Telegraph – it was SO Sofitel Singapore before that – QT Singapore will boast a brand-new bar and grill Cygnet as well as Rooftop at QT as its key dining destinations when it officially throws its doors open come September.
Heading both venues as QT Singapore’s Creative Director of Food & Beverage is award-winning New Zealand chef and restaurateur Sean Connelly. Which comes as little surprise, since Chef Connelly – who operates concepts such as Steak & Oyster Co by Sean Conolly and Parlour in Sydney, and Shush Burger in Melbourne – also heads Esther at QT Auckland, as well as Gowings at QT Sydney.
Cygnet at QT Singapore is touted as a buzzy Manhattan steakhouse that “transforms from a vibrant morning spot to an elegant evening venue, ensuring a unique atmosphere at any time”. The menu will focus on “ingredient integrity and origin”, offering a ‘steak library’ with premium steaks such as Tajima Japanese wagyu rump and Australian Grass Fed Riverine Rib Eye, along with Chef Sean’s signature duck fat roast potatoes. Diners can also expect an extensive wine list from top wine producing regions, including over 30 wines by the glass.
As for Rooftop at QT, the iconic rooftop destination will be a wholly reimagined open sky pool and bar. Taking inspiration from similar Rooftop at QT concepts in Australia and New Zealand, guests at the QT Singapore venue can expect an extensive beverage list including refreshing cocktails even as they take a dip in the pool or avail themselves of a taqueria-inspired food menu.
“QT Hotels have consistently redefined hotel food and beverage experiences and I’m excited to introduce to Singapore – a haven for food enthusiasts – an approachable bar and grill experience in the form of Cygnet. My cooking philosophy starts with sourcing the best ingredients from around the world, cooking with French influence, bringing authenticity to the table, and most of all, having some fun,” says Chef Sean Connolly, Creative Director of Food & Beverage at QT Singapore.
“Cygnet and Rooftop by QT promise to enhance the already vibrant local food and beverage scene, and perfectly complement the eclectic ambience that awaits guests at QT Singapore.”
Cygnet and Rooftop at QT Singapore is set to officially open from 6 September. For more information, visit https://www.qthotels.com/singapore/.
