Newly announced World’s 50 Best Hotels for 2024 sees Capella Bangkok come in at No.1, ahead of a list that showcases Asia as an epicentre for hospitality.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 rankings was announced at an awards ceremony held in London earlier this week. The second edition saw hotels from 37 destinations across six continents around the world get the official nod from the 50 Best academy of voters, with Capella Bangkok in the Thai capital getting top honours.

Bangkok emerged from the awards looking like a hospitality powerhouse with a total of four of its hotels lauded in the list, while Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore each saw two of their hotels represented. Indeed, Asia did exceedingly well this year with a total of 19 entries, edging out Europe which dominated last year’s rankings.

  • #14 – Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (Bangkok, Thailand)
  • #21 – Desa Potato Head (Bali, Indonesia)
  • #22 – Bvlgari Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan)
  • #23 – The Lana (Dubai, UAE)
  • #26 – The Siam (Bangkok, Thailand)
  • #27 – Park Hyatt Kyoto (Kyoto, Japan)

Capella Bangkok sits along the iconic Chao Phraya river.

Capella Bangkok climbed 10 places from #11 in the 2023 list to become this year’s World’s Best Hotel, also clinching The Best Hotel in Asia 2024 title.

Iconic Raffles Singapore is the Lion City’s top performer, improving from their #17 spot last year to land at #6, while Capella Singapore dropped a few spots to #33.
