As part of New Ubin Seafood‘s Truly Singaporean Wine & Makan Series of wine dinners, the seafood restaurant will be hosting “A Rhone Valley Treasure: Pierre Amadieu” on Tuesday 25 September 2019 at its Zhongshan Park outlet featuring the wines of the Rhone producer.
Pierre Amadieu is a highly regarded winery from Gigondas appellation in the southern Rhône wine region of France. It was founded in 1929 by the current owner’s grandfather, who made wine from his 7 hectares of vineyard passed on by generation to generation. One of the first to print the name of the appellation on his bottles, he also obtained in 1932 a gold medal in the National Agricultural Concours of Paris.
For this wine dinner, the wines of Pierre Amadieu will be paired with Truly Singaporean makan by New Ubin. Expect some of the most unlikely food and wine pairings, from the Pierre Amadieu Cotes Du Rhone Roulepierre Blanc — a lovely blend of old White Grenache and Clairette grapes — paired with Impossible™ Meat Fries and washed down with Bak Kut The Shooters (and that’s just to start) to the Pierre Amadieu ‘Le Pas de l’Aigle’ — a racy, top-end Gigondas that’s big on the palate and full of substance and refined tannins — with Pork Knuckle unabashedly done two-ways: Braised and Crispy German-style.
The full menu is given below.
This “A Rhone Valley Treasure: Pierre Amadieu” costs $98++ per person. To book a spot, email email@example.com or call 9740 6870.
