Beerfest Asia will be celebrating its tenth edition this year from 30 August to 2 September 2018 with an expected list of over 400 beers and at a new location – The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay.
It may come as a surprise, but one of Asia’s largest beer festivals – Singapore’s very own Beerfest Asia – hits its tenth year of existence this year. Its impact on Singapore’s beer drinking scene cannot be disputed; over the years it has helped introduce new beer brands, new beer styles, and brought about a convivial music and party atmosphere bar none.
2018 won’t be any different. Organized by Beerfest Asia Pte Ltd – which is co-owned by entertainment company Timbre Group and Sphere Exhibits (the event and exhibitions arm of Singapore Press Holdings) – the event this year looks poised to be its biggest and best ever. Beerfest Asia 2018 will be held at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay, a brand new venue and also its largest ever featuring four tents of music and booze in an area of 2,200 sqm.
Beerwise, festival goers will get access to over 400 different beers – of which at least 200 will be newly introduced into Singapore – from across the region and around the world. Beer brands making their debut here in Singapore at Beerfest Asia this year include Gweilo Beer (Hong Kong), Abashiri (Japan), Brick by Brick (Lithuania), and Rocky Ridge Brewing (Australia), amongst others.
Also to look out for are the beers specially created to commemorate Beerfest Asia’s tenth anniversary; there will be special brews by Archipelago, Paulaner Brauhaus, Red Dot Brewery and 1925 Brewing Co from Singapore, as well as from Moondog Brewery from Australia, Stonehead Brewery from Vietnam, and Gosnell Mead from UK. Those keen to learn more about beers can participate in various beer workshop sessions across four days with different brew masters and brand ambassadors guiding on the nuances in between different types of brews as well as how to brew the perfect beer from home. The beer workshop sessions are free of charge to festival goers but pre-registration on festival’s website is encouraged.
Foodies will be spoiled for choices in the expanded gastronomy experience at this year’s edition. Food vendors include the likes of No Signboard, 25 Degrees, Char, Morganfields, Easyeggs, The 1925 Brewing Co., Be Frank, Brewerks, Shiso, Uni Gallery, and more.
As for entertainment, there will be over 30 live acts, consisting of DJs and renowned international and local bands, to make sure all your senses are engaged. Keeping to Beerfest’s tradition of rousing music, guests can experience riveting live performances by our all-time favourite tribute bands – Killer Queen (Queen Tribute), The U2 Show Achtung Baby (U2 Tribute) and Viva Coldplay (Coldplay Tribute).
