Beerfest Asia

Beerfest Asia is once again back, and this year the four-day beer and music festival will take place from 25 to 28 June 2015 at Marina Promenade.

Organized by Beerfest Asia Pte Ltd – which is co-owned by entertainment company Timbre Group and Sphere Exhibits (the event and exhibitions arm of Singapore Press Holdings) – the event this year sees a number of new exhibitors participating, such as newly established craft cider importer The Mad Tapper, German beer importer BeerCellar Asia, Chaoying Company – which owns and operates Sabai Fine Thai on the Bay, Longtail Asian Brasserie & Bar and the newly opened Bratworks – The German Imbiss – as well as craft beer hawker stall operatorSmith Street Taps.

The Mad Tapper will be showcasing their range of craft ciders, which includes Perry’s from the United Kingdom, Zeffer and Forbidden Brewing of New Zealand, as well as a spread of American craft ciders with brands like Atlas and Reverend Nat’s. Chaoying Company will unveil their range of Flensburger beers from Germany which have been brewed with water that originates from the North Scandinavian underground glacier flow. BeerCellar Asia will be promoting Veltins, ranked third among Germany’s best-selling premium breweries with its Pilsner and Grevensteiner Original.

Craft beer hawker entrepreneurs will be running ten rotating beers on tap, featuring vaunted brands such as Hitachino Nest from Japan; Deschutes Brewing, Stone Brewing Co, and Rogue Ales from the United States; Denmark’s Mikkeller; Siren Craft Brew, St Austell and Adnams from the United Kingdom; and The Netherlands’ Brouwerij de Molen, among others.

Newly implemented at the festival this year are tasting portions of beer – festival goers will each receive a plastic sampling cup that they can purchase tasting portions (50ml/70ml) from exhibitors – to prevent everyone from getting too sloshed trying full portions of different beers (we hope).

But bad news for wine and whisky fans; there won’t be a wine and whisky tent at this year’s festival. The Wine & Whisky Experience at Beerfest Asia presented by Beam Suntory last year was a massive hit, both for the range of whiskies, wine, sake and other spirits on offer, as well as the powerful air-conditioning in the marquee that provided a welcome respite from the scorching heat that assaulted the festival last year.

Tickets are on sale from SISTIC from S$15 onwards. Limited UOB Exclusive 4-Day pass at S$55 are available while stocks last. All tickets include one complimentary welcome beer (with the exception of VIP tickets) that can be redeemed on the festival grounds.

For die-hard Beerfest Asia fans, limited VIP packages with benefits such as eight hours of free-flow beers and express entry at the festival gates are also available.
