One of the Sands Signature Series during Epicurean Market at Marina Bay Sands, this Penfolds masterclass on Sunday 14 August 2016 from 12pm to 1pm takes participants through an intimate five-decade vertical journey of the brand’s most iconic wine, the Penfolds Grange.
Penfolds winemaking ambassador Patrick Dowling will be on handguide attendees through vintages from 1978, 1988, 1999, 2004 and 2010. Many of the wines to be tasted are regarded as some of the finest and most valuable vintages produced, including some that have been scored the coveted perfect score of 100.
First released in 1951, Penfolds Grange Shiraz is Australia’s most celebrated and famous wine. The Penfolds Grange story of how it came to be and why it is regarded as Australia’s greatest wine is a compelling story in itself.
Dowling (pictured above) will also share with attendees the extraordinary history behind this wine, why its creator Max Shubert came to produce it, as well as some of the fabled stories that make Penfolds one of the truly great wine brands of the world.
Tickets are $400 per person (does not include entry to the general Epicurean Market area) and can be purchased here.
