Italian restaurant and lounge Zafferano will be holding an exclusive Groot Constantia wine dinner on Wednesday 30 September 2020 at 7pm.
As part of Zafferano’s Winemaker Dinner Series, for one night only diners at Zafferano get to embark on a wine pairing journey to the 17th century with Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine estate. Founded more than 330 years ago behind Table Mountain, the estate has become renowned for the country’s oldest wine, the “Constantia Wyn” – well-loved by European aristocrats, with notable mentions in classic novels by Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.
Wines showcased at this wine dinner are:
These wines will be paired along with four courses of contemporary Italian fare at Zafferano by recently installed Head Chef Andrea De Paola. The full food and wine pairing menu can be found here.
This wine dinner is a good way for diners to show their support the South Africa wine, an industry that has been devastated by a ban on domestic alcohol sales and export constraints due to coronavirus restrictions.
The Zafferano Groot Constantia Wine Dinner takes place at 7pm on 30 September 2020, and is priced at at $128++ per person. To book a spot, call 65091488 or email marketing@zafferano.sg. Alternatively, you can make your reservations here.
