Hua Ting x The Writing Club whisky pairing dinner

For one night only, Orchard Hotel Chinese restaurant Hua Ting will be hosting a special whisky pairing dinner on Friday 25 May 2018 at 7pm in collaboration with specialty whisky bar The Writing Club that will feature a range of rare whisky expressions.

This whisky dinner will see Hua Ting Chef Lap Fai’s specially crafted six-course menu matched with whiskies from The Writing Club, such as Crispy Suckling Pig, Glutinous Rice and Wild Mushrooms with Glenmorangie 10 Year Old, and Pan-seared Japanese Wagyu Beef and Rock Salt with Glendronach 12 Year Old, and Braised Superior Shark’s Fin, Crab Claw and Superior Duck Sauce with Knockando 12 Year Old.

“The selected whiskies may sound familiar to those who enjoy their drams, however these are not your usual expressions that can be found in liquor stores or bars today,” comments Tan Soo San, founder of The Writing Club. “These whiskies are produced in the 80s and bottled for circulation in the 90s. The style of production is very different from those available today and their dedicated yet delicious flavours is the reason they are picked for pairing with Hua Ting’s fine cuisine,” adds Soo San.

The whisky dinner will take place in Hua Ting Chairman’s Room – the grandest of seven private dining spaces, with its own dedicated entrance – and will be limited to 20 seats.
