To celebrate the coming National Day, award-winning Chilean wine brand Marques de Casa Concha will be paying tribute to local food with a special cooking and wine pairing masterclass featuring Peranakan cuisine.
The “Peranakan Cuisine & Fine Wine Masterclass” will take place on Wednesday 7 August and will see guests cook their own Peranakan dishes under the watchful eye of Chef Tinoq Goh, before sitting down to sample the dishes and learning how to pair these vibrant and complex flavours with the many different wines from Marques de Casa Concha.
The menu for the evening has been carefully curated to cover the full range of flavours and pairings including Ayam Limau Purut, chicken simmered in a light and aromatic coconut sauce infused with Kaffir lime leaves, Sotong Hitam, fresh squid cooked in squid ink garnished with onions, red and green chilies and Prawn Sambal Tumis, sautéed fresh large sea prawns cooked in a spicy and sweet tamarind sauce.
Matching the diversity of Singaporean culture, Marques de Casa Concha boasts a dynamic portfolio that fully represents Chile’s varied terroir. With such a range of fine wines to choose from, Marques de Casa Concha is the perfect match for a complex range of flavours. Each Marques de Casa Concha wine comes from vineyards of specific origin, where complex relationships with nature, the way a vineyard is set out and the years the vines have taken to enrich their grapes, give every variety in the range a unique personality.
This “Peranakan Cuisine & Fine Wine Masterclass” is open to all and free to register; you can get your ticket here.
