Once Upon A Time In Cognac at Tippling Club

As part of the activities surrounding Singapore Cocktail Festival 20019, award-winning restaurant bar Tippling Club will be hosting founder and bartender Nico de Soto from New York City cocktail bar Mace on Friday 10 May 2019 for ‘Once Upon A Time In Cognac’.

Presented by Rémy Martin, ‘Once Upon A Time In Cognac’  is a one-night-only event at Tippling Club under the latter’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ series of themed cocktail parties and will celebrate the classic Sidecar cocktail. Believed to have originated at the Ritz Hotel in Paris in the 1920s, the Sidecar is among the oldest cocktails in records to have withstood the test of time. The classic shaken concoction of cognac, Cointreau orange liqueur and lemon juice remains a timeless favourite and staple in cocktail menus around the world.

‘World’s Best Bartender 2014’  Nico de Soto and Tippling Club head bartender Andrew Loudon will collaborate to offer five cocktails – two that are twists on the Sidecar using Rémy Martin VSOP – each of which will come paired with tapas-style small plates. Cocktails from the one-night-only menu will be priced at $24++ each; other bespoke cognac cocktails will also be available on this evening

There’s also going to be an actual vintage sidecar on hand for photo opportunities in case you want to relive the time of the Golden Age of Cocktails when the Sidecar was conceived.
