Japanese izakaya and sake bar Shukuu Izakaya 酒空居酒屋 will be holding Sake Sake 2019, an event on Sunday 27 October 2019 from 1pm to 6pm celebrating all things sake.
Sake fan, take note: this November Shukuu Izakaya – one of our favourite homegrown izakayas – will be again be holding its sake festival Sake Sake. Back for its third edition, Sake Sake 2019 will see Shukuu’s four fully certified in-house sake sommeliers guide revellers through over 30 specially curated sake labels. Expect to see renowned sake labels like Roman, Tenmei, Odakaya, Hirotogawa and Gunma made available in one single event.
In fact Shukuu Izakaya will be partnering Hamaizumi Shuzo – maker of Roman – from Fukushima prefecture for this event for the first time, and Hanaizumi Shuzo president and brewmaster Makoto Hoshi will grace the festival. He will be on hand to share about the quality sake produced by his brewery; Hanaizumi clinched two gold medals for their Junmai Ginjō brews at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) Sake Selection 2018.
