Wine and spirits merchant Italian Wine Club will be hosting a whisky tasting session on Thursday 14 July 2016 from 7pm to 9pm at Pizza Fabbrica featuring the whiskies of independent bottler Samaroli.
The best known – and probably the only one still active – Italian independent bottler of spirits, Rome-based Samaroli was founded by Silvano Samaroli in 1968, and has built a reputation for selecting the best casks to mature whiskies (especially single cask scotch whiskies). they often re-cask whiskies in new oak to develop more complex flavours in the spirit.
The small batch whiskies – plus a bonus rum – that will be showcased include:
- Samaroli Isle of Jura 1997
- Samaroli Speyside 1995
- Samaroli Islay
- Samaroli Caribbean Rum 2005
The Samaroli Islay, especially, is very recently launched.
