The Whisky Academy is currently open for its next intake for its Whisky Apprentice certification on Monday 9 May 2016 at The Belljar from 10am to 5pm. This specific intake is targeted at members of the F&B trade, but members of the public are welcome.
The Whisky Academy‘s Whisky Apprentice course is the first of three levels of certification – the next two levels are Journeyman and Master – and will cover topics such as the whisky distillation process, differences in products from different regions and continents, as well as whisky service knowledge. Led by Glenfiddich regional brand ambassador for Asia Pacific Matthew Fergusson-Stewart, the class will also be a place to gather ideas, learn the science behind whisky, and the tradecraft of enabling whisky sales in your work environment.
All graduates will be awarded a certificate and a lapel pin. The course costs $240 for members of the trade and $290 for members of the public, and will cover training materials, over a dozen sample whisky drams, certification, and lunch.
