Biondi Santi wine dinner at Zafferano

Italian Wine Club is organising a wine dinner featuring wines from the Montalcino, Siena-based winery Biondi Santi on Wednesday 19 October at 7.30pm at Zafferano.
The dinner will be hosted by winery representative Valentina Gherardi, who will present the wines from Biondi Santi which has have been producing some of the world’s finest wines at their Greppo family estate since the mid-1800s. The family was acknowledged in 1932 as the inventor of Brunello di Montalcino – it was awarded the first Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) designation – and today is one of Italy’s best-known and most expensive wines. – Its Brunello di Montalcino Biondi Santi Reserve 1955 was awarded by Wine Spectator as one of the 12 best wines made in the world during the 20th century, the only Italian wine on the list.
