Manabu Ohtake at Gibson Bar

For one night only, Manabu Ohtake, winner of the 2011 DIAGEO Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year competition, will be guest-tending at Gibson Bar on Monday, 1 February from 8pm to 12 midnight.

Manabu Ohtake is currently the head bartender at Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel’s Bar BelloVisto, located 40 storeys high in Tokyo’s Shibuya district with a commanding view of the city’s skyline. With 15 years bartending experience, he picked up the title of the DIAGEO Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year in 2011, as judged by the likes of bartending icons Hidetsugu Ueno and former Savoy barman Peter Dorelli. Unlike many other Japanese bartenders Ohtake tends to have a more western outlook on mixology, and has a preference for vodka.
