Master Sommelier vs Master of Wine dinner

CÉ LA VI will be hosting a special wine dinner on Monday 22 April 2019 from 8pm to 10pm featuring Master Sommelier Mathias Camilleri and Master of Wine Fongyee Walker to raise funds for charity.

An exclusive 12-guest charity dinner and auction, this Master Sommelier vs Master of Wine dinner will feature two wine experts each of whom will bring out a wine to pair with each course. Mathias Camilleri, Singapore’s first Master Sommelier conceptualised this charity dinner to honour Gerard Basset, an international wine legend who passed away earlier in January this year. He will be joined by Malaysian-born and Shanghai-based Master of Wine Fongyee Walker.

“Basset was one of the rare personalities who held both Master Sommelier and Master of Wine titles, which is why we thought it would be meaningful to have both a Master of Wine and Master Sommelier present this event,” shares Camilleri.

Priced at $368++ per guest, the dinner will see each guest voting for their favourite pairings; the overall winner with the highest number of votes will be announced at the end of the dinner.

The evening’s twelve wines will also be available at the charity auction, which will be held after the dinner. Guests are encouraged to bid and bring home their favourite wines, as proceeds go towards charity.
