‘A Taste of South Africa’ at Rosemead

Chef Tullishe Le Roux - A Taste of South Africa

Rosemead will be hosting ‘A Taste of South Africa’, a wine dinner on Wednesday 24 May 2023 that will see guest chef Tullishe Le Roux take over the kitchen for some authentic South African dishes matched with South African wines. Presented in collaboration with South African chef Tullishe Le Roux and wine distributor Stellez Vine, this four-course wine pairing dinner will be an evening of soulful and authentic South African cuisine, paired with some of the best vino from the country.

The gastronomic journey will begin in Singapore with three crowd-pleasing snacks by Rosemead – Smoked Blue Crab & Avocado, Cured Japanese Hamachi “Pastrami” and Steak Tartare & Bone Marrow Emulsion, paired with the Raats “Original” Chenin Blanc 2022.

Diners will then hop to the South African coast with Chef Tullishe’s Coal Kissed Bigeye Tuna served with Rosemead’s Shiitake Shokupan and Newton Johnson “Family Vineyards” Pinot Noir 2021, before indulging in the main course of Traditional South African Bobotie. Featuring minced wagyu beef baked with spices and a savory custard served with fragrant basmati rice, it is paired with Groot Constantia Pinotage 2020 to complement the dish’s robust flavours.

Diners will then conclude their meal with a Blue Basque Cheesecake, paired with the smooth Groot Constantia 2017 dessert wine to to conclude this South African sojourn.
