Singapore’s leading craft alcohol purveyors Temple Cellars, in collaboration with venue partner UE Square Shopping Mall, will be holding ALT MKT 2019 on Saturday 19 October 2019. First introduced back in 2017, The Alternative Market is a lifestyle and retail festival showcasing the one of the widest ranges of artisanal booze available in town.
For example, some of the celebrated craft beer brands making an appearance include Garage Project, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Stone Brewing. Local gin distilleries Brass Lion and Compendium, as well as the world’s first non-alcoholic distilled spirit, Seedlip, have also been confirmed as participating brands.
Expect a broadened selection of wines in the new edition this year, as The Straits Wine Company presents labels such as Mandrarossa, Babich Wines and Ruinart Champagne, to name a few.
As for food, choices include a wide variety of offerings from the likes of Ippudo, Shu Yan Fusion Cuisine, The Butcher’s Cut and Venus Cafe.
The ALT MKT will also be featuring a series of masterclasses that aim to cover various topics and cater to enthusiasts across all alcohol categories. Topics include Cocktail Making with a Local Twist, A Flavor Journey with Empirical Spirits and Rarities and Oddities: Rare Craft Beer Things.
ALT MKT is positioned to be dog-friendly as well; in fact visitors can even find a range of craft beers for dogs from Floof for their furry friends.
“The ALT MKT was conceived as a larger showcase of what we do at Temple Cellars; well-curated products at affordable prices. The intention is to change the perception of craft products being both unaffordable and inaccessible.” said Kevin Ngan, co-founder of Temple Cellars. Temple Cellars is also behind popular craft sake festival Sake Matsuri Singapore.
“We are bringing The ALT MKT back this year and we’re hoping alcohol drinkers of all walks of life can come by and experience the event, maybe even find something new they fancy. It is going to be an even bigger display of quality products; and these options don’t come with a killer price tag.”
