Frescobaldi Toscana wine dinner at The Cliff

Italian restaurant The Cliff at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa will be hosting a five-course wine dinner on Monday 29 January 2024 featuring wines of Toscana’s Frescobaldi.

In the first of a series of wine dinners to be held at The Cliff in 2024, the Italian restaurant at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa will play host to Alberto Orengia, Asia-Pacific Manager at Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi for a five-course wine dinner paired with the wines of Italy’s Frescobaldi Toscana.

For those not familiar with Frescobaldi, the family-owned Tuscan-based wine producer been producing wine since the early 1300s. Frescobaldi embodies the essence of the Tuscany region, focusing particularly on viticulture and agriculture that celebrate the diversity of terroir and wine styles of that particular Italian winemaking region.

The wines (and one grappa) to be showcased at this Frescobaldi Toscana wine dinner are:

• Castello Pomino – Pomino Metodo Classico DOC Brut “Leonia” 2019
• Maremma Toscana Cabernet Terre More Ammiraglia 2021
• Castello Pomino – Pomino Bianco DOC 2022
• Castello Nipozzano – Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG 2020
• Tenuta Castel Giocondo – Brunello Montalcino DOCG 2018
• Tenuta Castel Giocondo – Grappa di Brunello di Montalicino

These will be paired with Tuscan-style dishes that will issue forth from Chef de Cuisine Paolo Benedet’s kitchen at The Cliff. Savoured dishes such as the Cacciucco Livornese, a traditional Tuscan seafood soup chockfull with prawns, clams, mussels and crab that will pair swimmingly with the accompanying Chardonnay- and Pinot Bianco-based Pomino Bianco 2022, while the rather robust Brunello Montalcino DOCG 2018 from Tenuta Castel Giocondo will help wash down your Grilled Tuscany Ribeye Tagliata Style.
