Lost Barrels World Tour: Weingut Meyer-Näkel x Sühring (Bangkok)

Sühring in Bangkok will be hosting Weingut Meyer-Näkel for an exclusive wine dinner on 5 December 2023 as part of the pioneering German winery’s “Lost Barrels World Tour”.

Wine lovers! Here’s a one-of-a-kind wine dinner happening if you’re going to be in Bangkok the first week of December. Award-winning fine-dining contemporary German restaurant Sühring – the two Michelin-starred eatery was No.22 in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants – will be playing host to Weingut Meyer-Näkel, one of the top producers of Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) in Germany as part of its international showcase, the “Lost Barrels World Tour”.

The lost barrels refer to the nine casks of 2020 vintage Pinot Noir wines that were miraculously salvaged after the 2021 flood that devastated Germany’s Ahr winemaking region. Third-generation Weingut Meyer-Näkel owners, sisters Dörte and Meike will be presenting the set of nine wines, each with different stories and tasting notes, at the dinner.

This exclusive dinner is the second leg of the “Lost Barrels World Tour”, which will kick off in Berlin, Germany on 18 November 2023 in collaboration with Chef Tim Raue, featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table, and his two Michelin-starred Tim Raue Restaurant, ranked on World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2023 at No.40. After Bangkok, the showcase is expected to be headed to New York.
