Once Upon A Time In South Africa

Award-winning restaurant bar Tippling Club will be hosting ‘Once Upon A Time In South Africa’ on Thursday 27 June 2019 featuring George Steven Hunter and Cameron-Leigh Henning of Johannesburg’s Saint and Marble Restaurants for a one-night only bar takeover.

Presented by Absolut Vodka, ‘Once Upon A Time in South Africa’  is a one-night-only event at Tippling Club under the latter’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ series of themed cocktail parties and will host bar manager George Steven Hunter and head bartender Cameron-Leigh Henning from Johannesburg’s Saint and Marble restaurants. George and Cameron-Leigh will be presenting six different cocktails specially designed for the night, giving guests an interesting taste of South Africa.

Over George’s five-year mixology career, he is no stranger to the cocktail competition circuit. In addition to their latest win with Absolut, George has also clinched prestigious local and international titles such as the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge 2018 and Beefeater MXLDN Cocktail Competition 2017. The pair, who are also a couple when they are not busy helming the bar, found their specialty by showcasing interesting expressions of the Angostura range and unique balance of interesting combinations in their cocktails.

Expect the likes of Ubuntu, which means “I am because we are”, concocted with
Absolut Vodka, milktart syrup, spekboom, and buchu sour; the Shebeen, which stands for
an unlicensed bar or pub, consisting of Havana 7, espresso, citrus, bitters, elderflower soda,
and Bénédictine DOM; or the Sho’ Skebenga, a Zulu word for a gangster, a mix of Absolut
Vodka, apple champagne, and buttered beer syrup.

‘Once Upon A Time In South Africa’ will start from 7.30pm onwards on Thursday 27 June 2019.
