The best known – and probably the only one still active – Italian independent bottler of spirits, Rome-based Samaroli was founded by Silvano Samaroli in 1968, and has built a reputation for selecting the best casks to mature whiskies (especially single cask Scotch whiskies). They often re-cask whiskies in new oak to develop more complex flavours in the spirit.
