Beerfest Asia may be known the leading annual event for all things beer in Singapore, but – in your wobbly drunken stupor – you may not have realized or missed out on the Whisky and Wine Experience first introduced at last year’s edition.

Well never fear, it’s back again – the Whisky and Wine Experience this year is presented by Beam Suntory and will feature a vast array of whisky, wines and other spirits from around the world at the marquee. There’s a new cocktail element as well – leading local cocktail bar Bar Stories who will be on hand to present their creative cocktail renditions at the Beam Suntory Cocktail Bar. But if you’re looking to do something more intellectual while sipping on your tipple, Morrison Bowmore Distillers (MBD) global brand ambassador Gordon Dundas will be on hand to share tasting notes and tips on the art of Scotch whisky appreciation. Sake master Kan Otsuka from Nabedana Brewery of Fudoh Sake, will also be in attendance, where he’ll take visitors on a journey through the diverse world of sake with pointers on how to enjoy the traditional Japanese tipple.

But if it’s the whiskies you’re after, you’ll find some outstanding single malt Scotch whiskies on hand – must-tries include new limited edition expressions such as Auchentoshan Virgin Oak, Bowmore The Devil’s Cask and Glen Garioch Vintage 1999 Sherry Cask Matured, as well as the Yamzaki Distiller’s Reserve and the Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve. The marquee will also showcase the Irish flavors of whisky expressions from the Cooleys Distillery, the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland and other brands such as Kilbeggan, Greenore and Connemara. If you prefer your bourbons, however, you redneck, try instead the liquids from small batch producers such as Maker’s Mark, Bakers, Basil Hayden’s, Knob Creek and Booker’s.
