Drop by The Auld Alliance this July, and you may end up walking away with a rare, one-off Macallan (The Macallan, for the pedantic), worth S$10,000.

The prize in question is a rare, 33 Year Old Macallan distilled in 1977, presented in an even rarer Baccarat decanter that dates back to the 1910-1920s. Bottled at natural strength (47.2% ABV) by the Silver Seal Whisky Company, this bottling is the only one of its kind in the world.

SS Macallan 33YO

The Silver Seal Whisky Company is a reputable independent bottler, and from experience, they have always captivated me with their stellar bottlings. I’d personally recommend the 1987 Laphroaig 16YO, 1995 Bowmore 16YO, 1983 Caol Ila 28YO, the amazing 1970 Glen Keith 40YO, and last but not least, the 1988 Macallan 22YO, which is simply divine. These are all available at the Auld Alliance, provided they still have the bottles in stock, of course.

To take part, all you need to do is to pop down to The Auld Alliance before midnight of 1st August, before the draw is made for the lucky winner, and buy a drink (Look for Arun to recommend you a good one! He really knows his stuff). Drop off your business card – or if you don’t have one you can write your details on a piece of paper – and that will get you one chance/entry (one chance per bill) for the draw. As there’s no limit to the number of entries you can have, the more times you visit, the better your odds.

If anyone needs me I’ll be at the bar…
