For the months of May to September Spanish tapas restaurant UNA at One Rochester has launched a summer pop-up “World Beer Bar” featuring a wide variety of beers from around the world right on its entrance patio.
Launched on 29 May, UNA’s “World Beer Bar” will see a wide range of beers and ciders – in fact, almost the entire Asia Pacific Breweries and its Archipelago World Beer portfolio – featured at the pop-up alfresco bar.
UNA at One Rochester first opened in April 2014, and aside from its signature Spanish fare it is best known for its UNA Tio Pepe Sherry Bar, which features the world-renown sherries from Bodega González Byass of Spain – ranked number one Spanish winery and fifth in the world in the 2014 “100 Best Wineries” by the World Association, Wines and Spirits, Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ) – the wine producer’s first permanent set-up in Asia.
On offer include Singapore’s very own Tiger, Kirin from Japan, Guinness from Ireland, Estrella Damm and Estrella Inedit from Spain; Erdinger White and Erdinger Black from Germany; Budajovicky Budvar from the Czech Republic; Birra Moretti from Italy; and Dos Equis XX from Mexico. Ciders include Sweden’s Rekorderlig and New Zealand’s Monteith’s Cider. Possibly the most interesting draw may be Heineken Extra Cold draught from The Netherlands, which uses new tap technology to dispense beer at a chill -6 degrees.
But the best thing, aside the extensive range, will be the price – each beer or cider goes for only $10 nett. They should be perfect to go along with the authentic Spanish tapas that comes out of UNA’s kitchen, led by head chef Jean-Philippe Patruno.
