American spirits distributor Proximo Spirits, owner of Kraken Black Spiced Rum, has appointed Asia Pacific alcohol distributor Brand Connect as the official authorised agency in Singapore to distribute the Caribbean rum.
Named after the mythical ocean beast, Kraken Black Spiced Rum is a Caribbean-style spiced rum from the Virgin Islands that is first distilled in pot stills from molasses made from sugar cane grown on the Islands. The distillate is then aged in American oak barrels for between 12 to 24 months before being blended with around 11 spices including cinnamon, ginger and clove for a spicy punch. The rum comes in at 94 proof, or 47% ABV.
As part of the arrangement, Brand Connect will also be distributing Bushmills Irish single malt whiskey in Singapore. Considered Ireland’s oldest whiskey, Bushmills was recently bought over by Jose Cuervo from Diageo under a deal that saw Diageo acquire total ownership of Don Julio tequila brand.
Kraken and Bushmills are available through Brand Connect Asia Pacific and a selected number of wholesalers. Price is upon asking. Kraken is also currently available at some bars in Singapore, such as Potato Head Folk, Horses’ Mouth, and Drinks & Co.
