Octopus Distribution Networks signs up Accolade Wines brands

Leading beverage distributor Octopus Distribution Networks has acquired rights to distribute Accolade Wines brands Grant Burge, Hardys and Mud House in Singapore.

Octopus Distribution Networks Octopus Distribution Networks – formed in early 2018 through the merger of distribution companies Liquorland Distribution, Okeanos Distribution and Singapore Beverage Solutions – has sealed an exclusive distribution agreement with South Australia-based Accolade Wines to distribute three of its major wine brands in Singapore. The leading Singapore distributor started to represent the Grant Burge, Hardys and Mud House brands from October this year.

This distribution agreement comes rapidly after Octopus signed on with Australia’s McGuigan Wines for a similar arrangement, after losing the distribution rights for Treasury Wine Estates brands including Penfolds, Wolf Blass and Rosemount Estate.

The Carlyle Group-owned Accolade Wines is one of the biggest largest wine producers in Australia, with its Australian operations alone delivering approximately 34 million cases to over 140 countries annually. Its marque Hardys brand is best known for its wide range of entry-level to luxury wines including The Riddle, Heritage Reserve Bin, Thomas Hardy and Eileen Hardy focusing on Australia’s key grape varietals Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay; many of its wines are multi-region blends.

Its Grant Burge wines hail from South Australia’s celebrated Barossa Valley, with a wide portfolio of ranges including the likes of its Alfresco, Benchmark, The Vigneron Collection, and Wines of Distinction. There’s also their Icon Wines range, which features wines handcrafted from aged vineyards that are more than 90 years old and are ideal for cellaring.

On the other hand, Mud House is a medium-sized wine operation that hails from the Marlborough region of New Zealand focusing on single varietal wines in their collection of Core and Single Vineyard ranges.
