Nyetimber has collaborated with private members club 1880 for the Nyetimber Secret Garden, a special three-month outdoor pop-up to celebrate its sparkling wines.

Nyetimber didn’t promise us a rose garden, but how about a somewhat secret garden instead? The English sparkling wine brand has partnered with leading Singapore private members club 1880 to convert the former’s outdoor rooftop area into the Nyetimber Secret Garden. The whimsical space – complete with verdant foliage and beautiful flowers as you would expect from a rural English countryside – offers a grand view of Robertson Quay and the Singapore River, but more importantly, will flow and bubble over with English sparkling wine.

The specially set-up outdoor garden will be serving up its Nyetimber Classic Cuvee and Rosé by the glass and bottle. Nyetimber’s sparkling wines will also be accompanied by a special food pairing menu of small plates from 1880’s British-born head chef Colin Buchan.

If you’re not too familiar with Nyetimber, the wine producer has been dedicated to producing English sparkling wine for the last 30 years and was the first in England to plant Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay – in Sussex, Hampshire and Kent in southern England – for making sparkling wine using the méthode traditionnelle just like in the making of Champagne.

Its sparkling wines are often regarded as England’s best, and has won numerous accolades for many of its wines such as its Classic Cuvee, Blanc de Blancs, Tillington Single Vineyard, and Rosé. Most recently, its Blanc de Blancs 2013 received England’s first-ever Gold Medal at the Decanter Asia Wine Awards 2019.

Nyetimber earlier this year set its sights on Asia, and expanded distribution of its wines into Singapore and Hong Kong. Nyetimber is distributed in Singapore by Analogue Wine Merchant.

This Nyetimber pop-up at 1880 will run from 1 December 2019 to end March 2020. It’s for members only, so if you’re keen to check the space out, get your 1880 member friend to bring you.
